What advice would you offer to textbook publishers?
Having sat through several textbook adoptions in the last few years, I can tell you this: textbooks are terrible. Now, I'm not opposed to textbooks as a resource and teaching tool, and in fact, I believe we need them to support teachers and lighten the load of finding every trick, tool, and model to teach with. Textbooks hold great promise; they can provide a roadmap for teaching standards and offering best practices in a neat package that requires no printing.
